THIRA Health seeks a full-time Eating Disorder (ED) Program Coordinator & Therapist. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills. He/she must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and be capable of delivering evidence-based treatment for eating disorders an intensive and fast-paced mental health treatment environment.

Our Leadership: THIRA’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mehri Moore, brings with her over 35 years of experience, which she applies in her care and guidance over each individual’s experience. THIRA’s Clinical Director, Dr. Kathryn Korslund, recently transitioned to THIRA after spending her career as research scientist at UW’s Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and working alongside Dr. Marsha Linehan on further developing and evaluating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Job Duties:

  • Provide individual therapy from a CBT-E framework as well as facilitating process groups and conducting psychoeducational and CBT for adult and adolescent females diagnosed with eating disorders
  • Deliver crisis intervention services such as assessing for suicide risk, creating safety plans, de-escalating dysregulated patients, and mediating conflicts between patients
  • Facilitate family involvement in treatment inclusive of family and couples sessions
  • Join and contribute to the eating disorder team by working collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members including other mental health therapists, prescribing clinicians, registered dietician (RD), nursing staff, etc.
  • Collaborate with attending psychiatrist/Chief Medical Officer (CMO) regarding treatment planning, assessing progress, and discharge planning 
  • Create and update a behavioral treatment plan for each individual therapy patient
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete clinical documentation on time
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary team to obtain all relevant clinical information to conduct all necessary ED-patient utilization reviews
  • Coordinate with team to confirm and adjust ED provider and program schedule(s)
  • Support program & curriculum development for eating disorder track in coordination with Clinical Director and CMO
  • Manage and supervise ED Therapist team

Required Experience:

  • Masters in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related therapy field
  • Washington State Independent Licensure (PhD, PsyD, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) or license-eligible if out-of-state required
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training and/or experience required
  • Minimum 2-years experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy to Eating Disorder-primary patients required
  • Crisis management experience required 

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience providing clinical supervision for therapists providing treatment for ED preferred
  • Experience working in PHP, IOP, or IPU environment
  • Experience providing family therapy to adolescents and their parents
